1. Our website
We aim for this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. In particular, you should be able to:
- navigate the whole site using only a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a "Skip to content" link;
- use a screen reader such as NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver, with meaningful headings, labeled form fields and text descriptions of every photograph;
- zoom text up to 200% without content being cut off;
- read all body text with a color contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1;
- turn off animations by enabling "reduce motion" in your device settings. Our site respects this setting.
2. Known limitations
- The illustrated map on our Contact page is a simplified drawing. The same directions are provided as text below it.
- Some older PDF programs in our archive are not fully tagged. We will provide any of them in an accessible format on request.
- Audio from storytelling nights is not yet captioned. Transcripts are available on request.
3. Our gatherings and venues
- Hartfield Yard and all regular partner venues are wheelchair accessible, with level or ramped entry and an accessible restroom.
- Our main hall has an assistive listening system.
- ASL interpretation is provided at one storytelling night per season and at any event on request with two weeks' notice, free of charge. CART captioning is available on request.
- Personal care attendants always attend free.
- Every event has a quiet corner, and hosts will seat you near an exit or away from speakers on request.
- Large-print and plain-language menus and programs are available on request.
- Neighborhood walks are graded by distance and terrain, with seating available at every stop.
